Areas of Expertise
As a Pre-Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I specialize in individual counseling for teens, young adults, and adults. I work with clients on a range of concerns, including anger management, trauma, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, women’s issues, and life transitions, helping them develop coping skills, fresh prespective, and achieve personal growth.
What Is Your Main Goal When Working With a Client?
My goal is to help clients gain insight into their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while equipping them with the right practical tools and coping strategies they can use in their daily lives. Ultimately, I want to empower clients to build resilience, develop healthier patterns, and feel confident in their ability to navigate life’s challenges both inside and outside the counseling session.
What Is Your Approach and What Methods Do You Employ?
I would describe my approach as integrative and client-centered. I recognize that each individual comes to therapy with their own distinctive experiences, as well as strengths, and challenges, so I tailor my approach to meet each client’s specific needs rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all model. In my work, I draw from evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Solution-Focused techniques. I often incorporate psychoeducation, skill-building, and practical coping strategies to help clients manage their symptoms. I also focus on increasing self-awareness, challenging unhelpful patterns, and strengthening emotional regulation skills.
What Age Groups Do You Work With Most Often?
The clients I have worked with ranged from ages 12 to 65, with a majority population of young adults.
Are you passive or active in the session, what can a client typically expect sessions to be like while working with you?
I would describe my approach as balanced and intentional. I would not say that I am passive in sessions, I am actively engaged, present, and collaborative. At the same time, I am mindful to create space for clients to process at their own pace. In my experience, therapy works best when it feels like a partnership, so I tailor my level of directiveness to each client’s needs, goals, and comfort level. Clients can typically expect sessions to feel supportive, structured, and goal-oriented while still being warm and conversational. Early sessions often focus on building rapport, understanding history, and identifying clear goals for treatment. As we continue working together, I may ask thoughtful questions, offer reflections, introduce coping strategies, or provide psychoeducation when needed. I strive to create an environment where clients feel comfortable being open and honest. At the same time, I am not afraid to gently challenge patterns that may be keeping someone stuck. Overall, clients can expect an engaged therapist who listens carefully, provides meaningful feedback, and works collaboratively to support your goals and lasting change.
What is your background and what are your credentials?
I am a Pre Licensed Mental Health Counselor who has completed both my graduate and undergraduate studies which have not only shaped my clinical skills but also deepened my commitment to serving others with empathy and
intention. Clinically, I have experience working in outpatient care settings, where I have supported individuals facing a range of concerns including anger, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and stress-related challenges. In this setting, I have developed skills in conducting intake assessments, creating individualized treatment plans, and providing ongoing therapeutic support with a collaborative and client-centered approach.
What is the reason you decided to get into counseling?
In my early stages of life I knew that I wanted to help people in some capacity and for so long I was unsure where to start and what that would look like for me. When I was first introduced to the field of psychology and mental health I was drawn to the opportunity to create a safe, supportive space where individuals feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives. Counseling allows me to combine my passion for mental health with my commitment to helping others lead healthier, more fulfilling lives no matter how unpredictable life may get.
